Tickets released for 2025 Santos Wheelchair Rugby World Challenge
Tickets have today gone live for the highly anticipated 2025 Santos Wheelchair Rugby World Challenge coming to Adelaide this May.
The new World Challenge will see the Australian Steelers take the court on home soil for the first time since 2018. It joins the existing Wheelchair Rugby National Championship and a newly introduced junior’s division, to provide the largest wheelchair rugby event in the world in 2025.
The Steelers will be on a quest to secure national honours after a successful 2024 Paralympic Games where they claimed a Bronze Medal, joined by international heavyweights looking for glory in the World Challenge: Canada, Brazil, Germany, New Zealand and the Netherlands.
Chungnam Province of Korea and other international guests join our state teams in the National Championship, making this event a true global contest.
Be part of history and cheer for the Australian Steelers and your state team without changing seats in what will be an event to remember.
Full Event, Day and Session Passes are available for every day of the competition, including dedicated Steelers Primetime Sessions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, culminating in Finals Day on Sunday.
The event sees wheelchair rugby return to Netball SA Stadium, Adelaide as part of a three-year hosting deal between the South Australian Government and Wheelchair Rugby Australia.
Wheelchair Rugby Australia CEO Chris Nay said: The World Challenge will be an historic moment for the sport.
“This landmark event will see seven countries compete in Australia, bringing international teams to Adelaide to go head-to-head against the might of the Australian Steelers in front of a roaring home crowd – something that hasn’t happened since 2018.
“The Steelers are one of the most successful sporting teams in history, showcasing an immense level of athleticism, skill and strategy from every player.
“We can’t wait to see the team and our sport shine in the spotlight at home in front of our fans. This is a changing moment, not only for wheelchair rugby, but disability sport more broadly.”
