University of QLD Rugby Club, the Red Heavies, were one of the foundation clubs in the inaugural Wheelchair Rugby National League in 2022. The Red Heavies returned in 2025, successfully claiming the National League Division 1 title.

UQ’s home round is the Brisbane Bash.
