Code of Conduct
Athletes, coaches, team staff and officials associated with Wheelchair Rugby Australia must be aware that they are often the focus of public attention. WRA expects that all teams and associated personnel will agree to the following code of conduct and as such each participant will be asked to sign the code of conduct as part of the registration process and eligibility to compete in the 2022 Wheelchair Rugby National Championship.
General
Abide by both the rules and the spirit of all competitions.
Conduct myself in a manner that will not discredit me, WRA, sponsors and other teams.
At all times when travelling to and from and whilst participating in a sporting event, official function or being interviewed by journalist, dress in approved team uniform or team apparel.
If a social function, I will dress in attire appropriate to the occasion.
Obey and respect any direction given by an appointee of the WRA.
Refrain from using offensive or abusive language.
Refrain from being intoxicated and using any banned drugs or substances.
Players
Whilst competing obey and respect any direction given by an official.
Applaud all good plays whether they are from my team, or the opposition and enjoy my game.
Cooperate with my coach, teammates and opponents. Without them there would be no competition.
Never argue with an official. If I disagree, I will have my captain, coach or manager approach the official at the appropriate time.
Not engage in physical or verbal abuse of officials or other players. Deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent is not acceptable or permitted.
Coaches/Managers/Team Staff/Officials
Be reasonable in my demands.
Teach players to follow the rules and set a good example.
Be consistent, objective and courteous when making decisions.
Condemn unsporting behaviour.
Report incidents in writing to WRA by completing the appropriate form within seven (7) days.
